Why can't I use BugHerd on my "http" website?

Important note: This article is going to get a bit technical. If you're a guest on a BugHerd project or are not sure what this article is about, send it to your web developer(s) to help.
Video Feedback is a really useful feature of BugHerd but to protect you and your privacy it's important we do this in a secure way. To protect your privacy while using the internet, your browser only allows BugHerd to access your screen/microphone when you...
a) Are viewing a "secure" website; and...
b) Explicitly allow BugHerd to access your screen/microphone.
Why video feedback doesn't work on your "http" website?
Your browser only allows recording of your screen or microphone on websites that are "in a secure context". This means your site needs to be hosted using "https" or SSL encryption rather than just plain "http".
How can I fix this?
To fix this there's 2 things you need to do...
- Host your website with SSL encryption. (e.g. "https" instead of "http")
- Change the Website URL on your BugHerd project to include your new "https" URL. For more information on how to do this, take a look at this helpful article.
