BugHerd makes it easy to collect and action feedback, but a little setup goes a long way. By configuring your task board, notifications, and clarifying who sees what, you can turn a wall of feedback into an organised, actionable workflow that keeps your team moving.
In this chapter we’ll cover:
✅ The BugHerd Task Board
✅ Customising your Task board
✅ Tagging, sorting & filtering
✅ Archiving feedback
✅ Updating multiple tasks with Bulk Actions
✅ Setting a Project Owner
✅ Connecting Slack or MS Teams
Introducing the BugHerd Task Board
Your Task Board is set up Kanban-style, making it easy to see tasks at every stage of your workflow. Columns represent task status, from initial feedback to “Done”
. Moving tasks between columns by dragging and dropping, giving your team a clear visual of progress.
Watch the short video below to get a quick overview of the Task Board’s main features.
Customise your Task board to match your workflow
Since your Task board is the heart of your BugHerd project, so it’s worth setting it up to reflect how your team works. You can:
Rename columns to suit your process (e.g.
Design Review
,Ready for Dev
, etc)Use tags for things like priority, feedback type (e.g.
design
,copy
, etc), or even review stagesFilter by page, status, or severity to run focused sprints or reviews
A well-structured board helps your team stay focused and avoids tasks getting lost in the shuffle.
💡 Pro Tip:
To save you time whenever you start a new project, you can customise your default project columns in your organization settings.
Tagging, sorting & filtering
As feedback volumes grow, effective use of tags and filters becomes essential. Tags can help you organise tasks quickly, prioritise efficiently, and make it clear for your teams who needs to do what.
Use Tags for things like:
Priority (High, Medium, Low)
Type of issue (Design, Copy, Functionality)
Phase (Pre-launch, Post-launch)
Use Filters to:
View tasks by specific pages (e.g., /checkout or /pricing)
Focus on a specific status (e.g.
Ready for Review
)Sort by severity to knock out critical issues first

Archive Feedback (and Keep It Forever)
Once a task is done (or isn't worth doing), archive it. Archived tasks disappear from the live site, but they’re never deleted. You can always find and restore them later if needed.
Clearing old tasks keeps your board fresh and easy to navigate.

Update multiple tasks with Bulk actions
Need to close a bunch of tasks, change priorities, or assign a new owner? Save time by bulk editing. Head to your Task board, select multiple tasks, then apply updates in one go. You can update status, severity, assignee, tags, and more.
Set a Project Owner
Is QA owned by the PM? Developers? Designers? A dedicated tester? Everyone? Picking a Project Owner makes sure feedback isn't missed and the board stays under control.
When you set someone as Project Owner, they:
Get notified of new feedback.
Get notified when a comment is left on an unassigned task.
Are shown as the main point of contact on the Client Project Board.
🎯 Example:
At BugHerd, our QA and Lead Designer do the first QA pass, logging tasks in BugHerd tagged by severity. Then, our Project Manager jumps in to assign them to the Developer best placed to resolve the feedback.
Connect Slack or MS Teams for real-time updates
Get BugHerd notifications sent straight to a dedicated Slack or Teams channel. You’ll get alerts for new tasks, status changes, and comments, without having to check the Task board constantly.
It’s a lightweight way to keep the team in sync and reduce the need for update meetings or check-ins.
