Comment on Tasks

Commenting on tasks allows you, your team and your clients to communicate about specific tasks.
Add comments to tasks to follow up, @mention members and clients or provide further information not in the original task.
Adding a comment to a task
To add comments to a task, simply type in the comment box on the task. Then click Add to save the comment.
You can do this from the Task board
or from the BugHerd sidebar.
Member only comments
(Premium and above feature)
You can choose whether your comment can be seen by clients or only by members, by switching the All users toggle to Members only before you click Add to save the comment.
Email notifications when a comment is added
When a comment is added to a task, email notifications are sent to
- the person who created the task,
- any assignees and
- anyone else who has commented on the task.
- If there's no assignees for the task, a notification will be sent to any managers in the project.
Clients can reply to the email and the comment will appear against the task, or they can go back to the BugHerd sidebar and respond to the task there.
In-app notifications
BugHerd includes in-product notifications on tasks when:
- a new comment is added to a task
- you're @mentioned in a comment or task
Notification icons appear on your My Projects board, and on the task cards in your Task boards, making it easy to see what needs your attention.
