Overview
Similar Task Detection is a new BugHerd AI feature that can assist you in automatically detecting tasks in your project that may be related or duplicates –
so you can merge, assign, or update related work effortlessly.
Similar Task Detection is currently available on all plans while in BETA. After BETA, you will need to be on a Premium or above plan to continue using this feature.

How it works
Open a task in your BugHerd project, and BugHerd will run a background similarity check.
If similar tasks are detected, a purple banner will appear in the task's detail panel.
Clicking this banner will open up a dedicated panel where you can merge duplicates, reassign tasks, or update statuses in just a few clicks.

ℹ️ Only tasks created after December 2025 will be analysed for similar task detection.
How to enable it
Per project: Go to BugHerd AI in the left-hand nav and turn on "Similar Task Suggestions".
Organization-wide: Admins can activate the feature for all projects under Organization settings > BugHerd AI screen.
