Use this guide to connect BugHerd to Onyx so you can access BugHerd projects, tasks, and comments directly from your AI workflows.
Prerequisites
Before you begin:
You have a BugHerd account
You have access to at least one BugHerd organization
You have access to Onyx with MCP support enabled
Add BugHerd MCP to Onyx
1. Open MCP settings
In Onyx:
Open the MCP settings
Click Add MCP Server
2. Add the BugHerd MCP server
Enter the following details:

Authentication Method | OAuth |
3. Authenticate with BugHerd
After adding the server:
Click Authenticate
You’ll be redirected to the BugHerd authorization page.
4. Authorize access
On the BugHerd page:
Log in if needed
Select the organization you want Onyx to access
Click Authenticate / Allow
Important:
The selected organization determines what data Onyx can access.
5. Return to Onyx
After authorizing:
Return to Onyx
BugHerd should now appear as connected
You’re now ready to use BugHerd MCP in Onyx.
Test the connection
Try a prompt like:
“List my BugHerd projects”
If your projects are returned, the connection is working.
