What is a Project
In BugHerd, all feedback (we call them Tasks) is captured in a Project. Think of a Project as your central hub for managing feedback throughout your entire web development workflow, from initial QA testing on preview or staging sites right through to your production environment.
Creating a new Project
To create a new project, go to the “My projects” screen and click “New project”. Follow the instructions to provide a project name & initial website URL you will be QA’ing (don’t worry, you can change this later).
💡 Pro Tip(s):
Keep your Project name clear and descriptive, reflecting the website, client or product it’s associated with. This practice is especially helpful when your team manages multiple websites or projects simultaneously.
Use folders on the “My Projects” screen to help better organize your projects. Find out more about this here.
Adding a Website to your Project
Usually, you’ll want to set up your BugHerd Project with a development, staging or preview URL of the site you’re working on. The great thing about BugHerd is as your project progresses through the development & QA process, you can update/add environments that you’re capturing feedback on without impacting any of the previous feedback you’ve captured.
For example, once your site moves to production, you can seamlessly add your production URL to the existing BugHerd Project and continue to use the same project to iron out any post-launch issues.
To add a website to your project go to “Websites & Files” and simply add the URL of the website(s) associated with this project. You can set up a project to work across multiple domains, or sub-sections of a website too. It’s up to you. Find out more about the URLs we support here.
💡 Pro Tip(s):
While BugHerd is designed for website feedback, you can also use BugHerd to capture feedback on the designs, PDFs or images too.
