Follow

Guests have the following ability in BugHerd:

  • Create new tasks on your project
  • View and get notified by email on updates to those bugs they reported
  • Add comments and attachments to their bugs
  • Mark their tasks as closed or re-open them
Note: guests have no access to bugs they did not report.

is there a way to generate a unique link for a specific project instead of inviting 100 users as guests?

Hi Druid, I'm sorry this is not yet possible, but we are soon to release a feature which is already in beta, which is the ability to allow all visitors of your site to report bugs, so a public option.

Is it possible to further limit what guests can do? For example, I would only like them to be able to report bugs and not receive notifications or be able to close or reopen.

May have a set of options which can be enabled or disabled?

Hi Andrew, thanks for the feedback. We are intending to provide more control over your users permissions in the future. I would recommend going over to the feature requests forum and log it there. In the meantime, what I could recommend is to disable "Invite Only" for your project and having your stakeholders report issues through the "send feedback" widget. It does mean you can no longer be selective about who will see it though, so that's worth keeping in mind.

    Hi,

I don't understand the guest function. You talk, that the guest can log in and see his own bugs. but on the project webseite, there is no login part and the guest have no login data to log in the bugherd.com webseite?

Hi Dominik, just to clarify, guests cannot login to BugHerd admin. When they follow the link in their invite email, they will end up on your site and can use the BugHerd sidebar on it. However it's a limited version of the sidebar which only shows their own reported bugs. I hope this all makes sense but please drop us a line at support@bugherd.com if I can offer any more clarification.

Hi, One question. I have a limit of 5 members to invite, and I´d like to remove one of them that is not longer on the project, to be able to add a new member. How can I do it?

Hi Mariela, you can do this from the "team" section which is visible at the top of the project admin page, as long as you are a manager on your account.

Are guests prompted to download the browser extension as part of their setup process, or does the code need to be embedded in the website?

Hi Cameron, with guests, while it is achievable to inform them about the browser extension prior to inviting them, it's currently only supported via the manual embed option. This is also always the most practical especially when inviting a large number of guests. By the way, any user logging a bug will always be prompted to install the extension to log the screenshot upon logging their first bug.

We are working on improving Guest on-boarding with browser extensions, but it will be different in that it's less seamless (not a one-click invite).

If a guest leaves a comment, and I assign that task to one of my staff, can the guest view the comments we leave back and forth for each other related to that particular comment?

Hi Steve, yes the Guest has full "read" access to their own tickets, and they also get notified of new comments as well.

Hi Vincent, when are the new guest features going to be released?  We have a client who has 10+ different departments bug testing and their own PM is getting frustrated because he can't see all the logged bugs (neither can each department), in turn we are getting 10+ duplicate bugs being reported (for example).

Is there any plan for a 'client' view - that can see a list of all allocated guest bugs (not all guest for a project may be working for the client) - so when they login to the BH site they see a page will two columns - open and closed bugs (outputted/grouped by Guest Group) - then on the BH+ pages they would also have a Group icon that listed all grouped bugs too (so they can see if a particular bug has been flagged before by someone else in their group?

Hi James, I understand your scenario, and probably some good and bad news, our vision for BugHerd absolutely lines up with your scenario, but it will be still some time away. We have a major new version coming out in the next few months, but please note that this version will continually evolve and won't have all this functionality from day 1. I'm sorry and I can feel your frustration since we don't offer good management features for larger organisations as yet. We would love to learn more about your business as we get into our beta testing phase. If you wish to be part of the beta, please email us at support@bugherd.com.

I would like to +1 the ability for guests to be able to see issues entered by other guests on the same project.  We are having an issue with duplicates as well.

Me too - wondering if that new release with ability for guests to see the bugs that are already logged is in yet? And if yes, how I access it. We don't know any sophisticated group thing, just the ability for people to be able to see what's already logged. We would also be quite happy to make our whole project board publicly viewable (but only editable by actual team members. Is that on the cards?  Would be VERY helpful!

Hi Amy & Kirsten, sorry this feature of giving guests access to other guests is not available as yet. Thanks for the feedback however, our product team will review it.

Hello Cameron, with visitors, while it is achievable to educate them about the program augmentation preceding welcoming them, its presently just upheld by means of the manual install alternative. Installment loans This is likewise dependably the most down to earth particularly when welcoming countless. Coincidentally, any client logging a bug will dependably be provoked to introduce the augmentation to log the screenshot after logging their first bug.
