You can now upload or sync new versions of your existing assets in BugHerd without having to create a new asset each time.
This makes it easier to manage multiple rounds of feedback and keep your files up to date.
Figma Files
You can now sync the latest version of your Figma files directly into BugHerd using the Sync new version button.
The process will differ slightly depending on when you originally imported your Figma file.
If you imported your Figma file before the beta was enabled
If your Figma file was imported before Asset Versioning was enabled on your account, you'll need to reconnect it once.
Open your existing Figma asset in BugHerd.
Click Sync new version.
A pop-up window will appear asking you to enter your Figma link again.
Paste your Figma link and select the corresponding file or frame you want to sync.
Once selected, BugHerd will use this information to sync the latest version of your Figma file.
Good news! You only need to complete this process once.
The next time you click Sync new version, BugHerd will automatically sync the latest version without asking you to enter the Figma link again.
If you imported your Figma file after the beta was enabled
If your Figma file was imported after Asset Versioning was enabled, the process is even simpler!
Open your Figma asset in BugHerd.
Click Sync new version.
BugHerd will automatically sync the latest version of your Figma file.
That's it! Your updated Figma file will be saved as the latest version of your existing asset.
PDF and Image Files
You can also upload new versions of your existing PDF and image assets directly in BugHerd.
Rather than uploading a completely new asset, you can add the updated file as a new version of the existing one.
How to upload a new version
Open the PDF or image asset you'd like to update.
Click the Version button to open the dropdown menu.
Select Upload new version.
A window will appear allowing you to choose the updated file.
Select the file you'd like to upload and follow the prompts to complete the upload.
Once uploaded, the new file will be saved as the latest version of your existing asset.
What Happens to Existing Tasks and Feedback?
Don't worry! When you upload or sync a new version of an asset, all existing tasks and feedback will remain attached to the asset.
Each task will be labelled with the version of the asset it was originally created on (e.g. Version 1, Version 2, etc.).
This makes it easy to identify which version a task relates to, so you can keep track of feedback across multiple versions without losing any previous tasks or comments.
Viewing Previous Versions
Need to go back and review an earlier version of your asset? You can easily switch between versions at any time.
View or Open the asset.
Click the Version button.
A dropdown menu will appear showing all available versions of that asset.
Select the version you'd like to view.
BugHerd will display the selected version, allowing you to review previous versions of your asset and their associated feedback.
Filtering Feedback by Asset Version
To make managing feedback easier, you can now filter tasks by asset version directly from the asset sidebar.
The asset sidebar displays asset-related feedback only, so website feedback won't appear here.
How to filter feedback
Open an asset in BugHerd.
In the asset sidebar, locate the task filter.
Select This Version.
The sidebar will now display only the tasks created on the version of the asset you're currently viewing.
For example, if you're viewing Version 2 of an asset and select This Version, you'll only see tasks that were created on Version 2.
This helps keep your feedback organised and prevents tasks from previous versions from cluttering your current review.
Tip: If you'd like to review feedback from an earlier version, simply switch to that version using the Version dropdown and apply the This Version or All filter.
