BugHerd and Jira integration

You need to be on a premium or above plan to integrate BugHerd with Jira.

Link BugHerd to Jira, then choose when and how your tasks in BugHerd are sent to JIRA.

This video walks you through how to set up your Jira integration:

Initial Setup

  1. Click Integrations in the left-hand side of your Project.

  2. Locate the Jira integration and click Connect.

  3. You will be prompted to authorize your BugHerd Project to connect to your Jira account. To authorize, select your Jira URL and then click Accept.

  4. Once you've accepted authorization, you will be redirected back the Integrations section of your BugHerd Project. You can then click 'Manage' on the Jira integration to complete your setup.

  5. To complete the remaining required steps, select your:

    1. Jira Domain

    2. Jira Project

    3. Jira Issue Type

    4. then finally, hit the 'Save' button

  6. You can now link your BugHerd tasks to your Jira project! βœ…


Choose your desired workflow

A. Automatically send new BugHerd tasks to Jira

Enable the (A) switch and any new tasks created in your BugHerd project will be automatically sent to your linked Jira project.

(Optional) Don't want all new tasks to be automatically sent to Jira?

No problem! Simply specify a BugHerd status column that you want new tasks to be automatically sent from (Ai).

B. Create comments in Jira

Enable the (B) switch and any new comments made on BugHerd tasks will be sent to the Jira issues they are linked to.

C. Sync comments from Jira to BugHerd

Enable the (C) switch and any new comments made on a linked Jira issue will also be sent to their original task in BugHerd.

πŸ’‘ Enabling (B) and (C) will create a 2-way sync of comments.

D. Update BugHerd status when completed in Jira

If you wish to move a BugHerd task to the done column when it is completed in Jira,

  1. Enable the (D) switch

  2. Use the subsequent dropdown menus to map the final column in your BugHerd project to the final column of your Jira project
    ​(this is typically called 'Done' or 'Completed')
